If a farmer wants to become part of the LPTP FSCTM certification group additional information needs to be collected in the field. It is easy for this to be done at the same time as Plantation Registration (See Forest Assessment SOP 1 Plantation registration). This assessment ensures that the applicant will be able to meet the FSC standards once they are accepted into the group.

Information collection includes a basic forest inventory, risk of natural forest conversion after 1994, presence of high conservation values, special management areas, stand conditions, erosion, boundaries and presence of watercourses. This information enables the group management to develop the Forest Management Plans.
